Adolf Hitler Biography
Adolf Hitler was born in Austria on April 20, 1889. At the age of 3, his family moved from Austria to Germany. Hitler showed interest in the arts and German nationalism, rejecting the authority of Austria-Hungary. This nationalism would become the motivating force of Hitler's life. In 1905, Hitler moved to Vienna and applied to the Academy of Fine Arts twice, rejected both times. Broke, he moved into a homeless shelter, where he remained for several years. Hitler pointed to these years as the time when he first appointed his anti-Semitism. Hitler later joined the German army to fight in World War I. Hitler became embittered over the collapse of the war effect. After World War I, Hitler joined the German Worker' Party. They changed their name to NSDAP to increase its appeal. He gave speeches against the Treaty of Versailles, rival politicians, Marxists and Jews. On November 8, 1923, they stormed into a public meeting at a large beer hall in Munich. The "Beer Hall Putsch" failed an Hitler went to jail for a year. The Great Depression in Germany gave a political opportunity for Hitler. He became chancellor. They intimidated their way to be the only legal political party in Germany. Hitler targeted children with physical and development disabilities. The Holocaust killed 11 million to 4 million Jewish people. During World War II, many Germans realized that Germany was gonna lose the war. On April 29, 1945, Hitler married his girlfriend, Eva Braun, but a day after, they committed suicide. Their bodies were burned behind the Reich Chancellery.
